Campus News:
There was an article in the most recent ND magazine on vandals that hit the campus last Thanksgiving. Paint guns splattered red on numerous buildings and cars. Doors were "X"ed with markers. Nearly all the chairs in the LaFortune lounge area were slashed. Did i mention this happened during the day and security caught no one? Way to earn those paychecks, boys! I got to town mid-January and the seats had not been recovered. (Nice to see how high a priority the STUDENT center is.) I went through recently and saw that they have been recovered. Oh yeah, no one's been caught yet.

Pat Garrity was selected #19 by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1998 NBA Draft. His stay there was short-lived as he was traded to Dallas and then traded again to Phoenix. That is the best place of the 3. He's at an ideal location. He was projected to go higher and be a lottery pick. I believe his stock dropped because he didn't attend any of the post-season combines or camps in preparation for the draft. Instead he chose to enjoy second semester here at ND. Way to go pat. Do us proud. I think he'll be a solid pro.
Campus News:
Correction. Anthony Travel and the arcade flip-flopped places. Who did I hear this from? None other than one Frank Franco. That's right, I stepped in and got a cut from the man. I got the patented swami head rub that he began down at my ankles. Then he brought out the horse brush. He started down at my chin and cultivated my entire head incessantly. The brush dug in until my scalp was a raw stump, one comb away from a bloodpath of Tarantino-like proportions. Nobody does it better.
Hall Notes:
News on the class of '98....The injury report. Farina, yes, the little squirrel, got in a vicious wreck. He was leaving D-6 and on Dorr Road heading toward 31. He said the accelerator stuck so to avoid going out into 31 he veered to his left and into the fence around the golf course. The fence gave way and he hit a tree. He was stuck in there quite awhile before the jaws of life got him out. He had minor injuries.
Slimmer...at the beginning of senior week fell down the stairs in front of Carroll. Rumor was that he was in one or two casts and that he had broken both elbows. I talked to him and got the scoop. Just in one sling but he messed up one elbow and the other should be O.K. No casts at that time. Rough way to enter graduation.

Pat Garrity was awarded 1 of 10 NACDA scholarships. It was a
student-athlete award and the 10 people were from all NCAA
athletics, not just basketball.
Campus News:
Summer school starts monday. Everybody's moving in today. Campus
is bustling again.
Hall Notes:
The Haunted House is no more. It's a thing of the past. It is
caput. Seems that a girl went through the touchy-feely portion of
the house and apparently wasn't bowed down to and given the royal
red carpet. She cried foul and took the Vermin to student affairs.
The house has been condemned. Apparently the world wasn't completely
revolving around her so she had to bitch until things were the way
she wanted them. I'm surprised a civil suit wasn't filed. oh yeah,
the female was dating a Vermin....and he didn't get her to call off
the dogs....and he kept going out with her. Yes, that's right, a
Vermin's girlfriend did in the Haunted House.

Those wishing to email or write Father Beauchamp or A.D. Wadsworth
concerning the rumors of us and the Big Ten, here are the addresses:

Campus News:
Anthony Travel is out. Gorch Games Room: Arcade is in. It only has
2 video games and air hockey as of now.
Bank in LaFortune expanded a lot (more ways to take your money).
Very easy to get at your money and for the University to get it
before it enters your pocket. "What's News" area there has 6 TVs!
Unfortunately there is no universal remote. Somebody get to work so
we can pull a cliff and norm.
Hall Notes:
Father Mike is leaving. That was the plan going into this year.
His niece graduated this May so he's calling it quits. No news
on who his successor will be or what's up with Fr. Thomas or Fr. Al.

ND women's tennis doubles team made it to the semi-finals in the
NCAA tourney which was held here. Lost to Duke.
As reported, supposedly talks have taken place about us
and the Big 10. Not good news. Screw them. We don't need anybody.
I will get emails and addresses next week so those wishing to
write may do so. Please do so.
