One final Carroll tidbit: This is a statue of Coach Frank Leahy that stands between Notre Dame Stadium and the JACC. The 1997 sculpture is of a man who, in 1927, was a Freshman in Carroll Hall. Now granted Carroll was not where it is today, nor was it associated with the present mascot, but Coach Leahy can still be considered The Godfather of all Vermin.
