
The new Hammes Bookstore opened in February of 1999. It is located just to the southwest of the Morris Inn.

The bookstore has a cafe. Hammes carries more than 75,000 titles, up from 13,000 at the old bookstore.

Computers with internet access are on the second floor of the bookstore. Floor space has more than doubled, increasing from 28,000 square-feet to 65,000.

A fireplace and leather chairs give the bookstore a more relaxed atmosphere.

The bookstore is now open every day until 10 pm. The clothing section has greatly expanded, and the music section now has sample CDs to peruse.

In addition to the bookstore is the new Visitors Center, which is just next door to the east. The two buildings make up the $21.5 million Eck Center.
